Extending their winning streak to five games, the Orioles swept a doubleheader from the Brewers, 6-2 and 7-3. Homers by Doug DeCinces and John Lowenstein gave the Birds a 2-1 lead in the second inning of the opener. Ken Singleton stroked a two-run single in the third. Brewer outfielder Sixto Lezcano dropped a fly ball with the bases loaded in the sixth to give the Orioles another pair.

The Orioles scored runs in each of the first five innings of the second game. Eddie Murray had RBI singles in the first and fifth innings and belted a two-run double in the seventh to cap a 13-hit assault against four Brewer pitchers. [The Sporting News]
