Two doubles and two RBIs by Frank White sparked the Royals to a 4-3 victory over the White Sox, ending the K. C. five-game losing streak. The Royals scored in the first inning when White doubled on a ball misplayed by left fielder Junior Moore, took third on a single by John Wathan and scored on a fielder's choice grounder by Al Cowens.

The Royals added three more runs in the fifth frame. Joe Zdeb singled and scored on a double by Freddie Patek. Willie Wilson followed with a bunt single and George Brett walked to load the bases. White then hit a two-run double. [The Sporting News]
