Rocketing to their eighth straight victory, the Orioles snapped a 2-2 tie in the ninth inning and defeated the Angels, 4-2. An infield hit by Al Bumbry started the winning rally. A single by Rich Dauer moved Bumbry to third and a single by Lee May drove home the tie-breaker. An infield hit by Ken Singleton loaded the bases and Eddie Murray then stroked a deep fly ball to left field to score Dauer.
