The Brewers swept a doubleheader from the Tigers, 5-1 and 7-5. In the first game, the Brewers trailed, 1-0, going into the seventh inning, but Cecil Cooper tied the game with a leadoff home run. After Don Money was hit by a pitch, Tiger starter Jack Billingham was relieved by John Hiller. A bunt single by Ben Oglivie, sacrifice by Sixto Lezcano and intentional walk to Sal Bando loaded the bases. Charlie Moore then delivered a two-run single to put the Brewers ahead to stay.

In the second game, the Brewers were behind, 3-1, going into the bottom of the sixth inning when they loaded the bases on a single by Oglivie, walk to Bando and infleld hit by Larry Hisle. Robin Yount then cleared the sacks with a two-bagger. Yount also doubled home another tally in the eighth and Gorman Thomas singled home two more runs in the same frame. [The Sporting News]
