The Cubs' five-game winning streak was stopped by the Astros, 6-2. J.R. Richard, who hit a homer to give the Astros a 1-0 lead in the third, was the winner although leaving the mound because of a back strain after five innings. Craig Reynolds batted in three runs for the Astros with a single and double. Jerry Martin hit his first homer in a Cubs' uniform. [The Sporting News]
