Driving in three runs, Greg Luzinski sparked the Phillies to a 4-1 victory over the Giants, who suffered their eighth straight setback. Luzinski had a first-inning single that scored Pete Rose, who had singled and stolen second. Garry Maddox smacked a solo homer in the second inning and Luzinski had a two-run round-tripper in the third, following an infield single by Rose. [The Sporting News]
