Breaking out of an 0-for-14 slump, Bill Buckner cracked two homers and a double to lead the Cubs to a 5-1 triumph over the Reds. Buckner's first circuit clout gave the Cubs a 1-0 lead in the first inning. They added two runs in the second frame and Buckner made it 4-0 with a leadoff blast in the third. [The Sporting News]
