A homer by Roy Smalley in the eighth inning enabled the Twins to extend their winning streak to five games with a 7-6 victory over the Tigers. Mike Marshall, making his 14th appearance of the season, pitched the last 2 1/3 innings and gained his third victory against one defeat to go along with nine saves.
