Roger Metzger tripled in the eighth inning and continued home when Skip Lockwood was charged with an error on the relay from the outfield, bringing the Giants a 4-3 victory over the Mets. Vida Blue made the run earned by following with a single that would have scored Metzger. The victory was Blue's fifth after the Giants' ace had lost two games since opening the season by winning his first four starts. [The Sporting News]
