Although held to four hits, the Royals used a homer by Hal McRae in the fifth inning and two unearned runs in the seventh to defeat the Indians, 3-2. Both of the Indians' runs were unearned in the eighth when the clutch relief pitching of Al Hrabosky saved the victory for Rich Gale. After an error by George Brett, two walks and a single by Toby Harrah produced the Indians' first run, Hrabosky took over and retired the side with another run scoring on a wild throw by Darrell Porter. Then, in the ninth, Hrabosky struck out Bobby Bonds with the bases loaded to end the game. [The Sporting News] |
