Driving in two runs with a homer and a sacrifice fly, Ted Simmons sparked the Cardinals to a 4-2 triumph over the Pirates. The sacrifice fly came in the third inning and followed singles by Lou Brock and Keith Hernandez. Simmons' home run led off the sixth stanza.
