A four-run outburst in the third inning propelled the Twins to a 6-1 verdict over the Blue Jays. In the Twin fourth, consecutive singles by Butch Wynegar, Roy Smalley and Ken Landreaux produced the first run.

Walks to Mike Cubbage and Ron Jackson forced in another and a single by Rob Wilfong produced the third run. The final run of the inning scored when Willie Norwood bounced into a forceout. Wynegar clouted a leadoff homer in the sixth frame. [The Sporting News]
