. . . where the 1970s live forever!

A sacrifice fly by pinch-hitter Pete LaCock in the eighth inning lifted the Royals to a 1-0 blanking of the Mariners. George Brett drew a one-out walk in the eighth and then stole second.

With a 2-and-0 count on Amos Otis, Byron McLaughlin replaced starter Floyd Bannister on the mound for the Mariners and completed the walk to Otis. Both runners advanced on a passed ball, setting up LaCock's game-winning fly to deep right field. [The Sporting News]
