A homer by Clint Hurdle in the ninth inning lifted the Royals to a 4-3 victory over the Mariners as Steve Busby got credit for his first victory since April 9, 1978 and his first route-going victory since May 1, 1976. The Royals had tied the contest in the sixth when George Brett doubled, stole third and scored on a sacrifice fly by Amos Otis. [The Sporting News]
