A wild throw by Milwaukee third baseman Sal Bando enabled the winning run to score as the Angels edged the Brewers, 4-3, in 11 innings. With two out and nobody on base, Dan Ford beat out an infield hit. Rod Carew then bunted safely down the third base line and Ford scored when Bando threw wild to first.

The Brewers pulled off a triple play in the fourth inning. With runners on first and second, Bobby Grich bounced to Bando, who stepped on third for one out, threw to second for the second out and the relay to first beat Grich. [The Sporting News]
