A pinch-hit homer by Mike Easler leading off the 13th inning gave the Pirates a 4-3 victory over the Mets. Easler hit the first pitch of the inning thrown by Met reliever Skip Lockwood. A homer by Willie Stargell in the seventh frame had given the Pirates a 3-2 lead, but the Mets tied contest in the ninth on a sacrifice fly by Gil Flores. [The Sporting News]
