. . . where the 1970s live forever!
Extending his hitting streak to 17 games, Roy Smalley had a single, double and two walks to highlight the Twins' 7-6 victory over the Royals. Smalley's two-bagger came with one out in the first inning and was followed by five straight hits -- singles by Ken Landreaux, Butch Wynegar, Ron Jackson, Glenn Adams and Willie Norwood -- that produced four runs.

The Twins added a run in the fourth on an RBI single by Hosken Powell and two more in the eighth on a solo homer by Rob Wilfong and a wild pitch by Royals' reliever Al Hrabosky. [The Sporting News]
