Homers by Bill Madlock, Darrell Evans and John Tamargo backed the three-hit pitching of Bob Knepper as the Giants topped the Braves, 8-1. Frisco took a 1-0 lead in the second inning on an RBI single by Roger Metzger and made it 2-0 in the third on Madlock's round-tripper.

In the fourth frame, Bill North drove home one run with a single and a single by Madlock plated two more. Evans and Tamargo clouted back-to-back homers in the sixth stanza. [The Sporting News]
