In a wild slugfest that went 12 innings, the Mariners edged the Royals, 12-11, on a triple by Julio Cruz and single by Ruppert Jones. The Royals had tied the game in the bottom of the ninth on six singles and an error with the final two runs of the frame driven home on a two-out single by U.L. Washington.
