Posting his third straight home victory for the Expos, Steve Rogers shut out the Pirates, 3-0. The first run of the game scored in the fourth inning when Rodney Scott beat out a bunt and tallied on a triple by Tony Perez.

The Expos scored two more in the eighth. Andre Dawson singled, stole second and came home when Scott beat out an infield hit and Buc reliever Kent Tekulve, covering first, dropped the throw. Scott then stole second and scored on a single by Warren Cromartie. [The Sporting News]
