Unloading a 14-hit bombardment, the Brewers completed the three-game series sweep by thumping the Angels, 9-6. After taking a 3-0 lead in the first two innings, the Brewers erupted for five runs in the third.

Cecil Cooper singled, Dick Davis doubled and Ben Oglivie slammed a three-run homer. One out later, Sal Bando also homered and after two walks, Jim Gantner stroked a single to drive in the fifth run of the frame. [The Sporting News]
