Sixto Lezcano, who had missed six games with a sore thumb, made a smashing return to the Brewers' lineup, hitting two homers and then walking and scoring the run that beat the A's, 3-2. After the A's counted their pair in the second inning on a double by Jim Essian, pass to Wayne Gross and singles by Rob Picciolo and Dwayne Murphy, Lezcano tied the score with his circuit clouts, one in the home half of the second and the other in the sixth. Then, in the eighth after drawing a walk, Lezcano scored the winning run on singles by Paul Molitor and Gorman Thomas. [The Sporting News]
