. . . where the 1970s live forever!

Jon Matlack, who turned in his second complete game of the season, won over Glenn Abbott in a six-hit duel when the Rangers defeated the Mariners, 2-1. Matlack gave up the M's run in the second inning on a single by Willie Horton, double by Leon Roberts and single by Dan Meyer.

The Rangers came up with the matching tally in the fourth when Al Oliver doubled and Jim Sundberg singled. Then, in the fifth, Bump Wills singled and raced home on a double by Johnny Grubb to score the deciding run. [The Sporting News]
