Tossing his second consecutive shutout, Steve Rogers pitched the Expos to a 9-0 triumph over the Phillies. After a two-run double by Chris Speier in the second inning, the Expos broke the game open with a five-run outburst in the fifth. Rogers led off with a single, Andre Dawson sacrificed and Rodney Scott singled to set up a two-run double by Warren Cromartie. One out later, Ellis Valentine unloaded a two-run homer.
