Bruce Bochte and Dan Meyer each hit a three-run homer and combined for nine RBIs, powering the Mariners to a 12-10 triumph over the Angels. Their slugging outburst negated a two-homer, five-RBI performance by the Angels' Bobby Grich. The Angels built an early 6-1 lead, but the Mariners tied it with a five-run burst in the fifth inning, capped by Meyer's three-run blast.

Grich's second homer with a man on base in the sixth put the Angels up, 8-6, but in the Mariners' half, Larry Milbourne singled, Julio Cruz walked and Bochte then unloaded his circuit clout. In addition to the homers, Bochte hit two singles and Meyer had a sacrifice fly. [The Sporting News]
