Andre Thornton, who had a perfect night at the plate with a walk and four hits, led the Indians to a 7-4 victory over the Angels. The Indians broke away with four runs in the first inning on a homer by Toby Harrah, pass to Thornton, single by Rick Manning, double by Gary Alexander and single by Ted Cox.

Thornton then accounted for the Indians' winning margin, doubling home runs in the third and seventh innings and producing his third RBI of the game with a single in the eighth. Don Baylor batted in two for the Angels with a homer and single. [The Sporting News]
