In a big day at bat, Dave Kingman drove in six runs to power the Cubs to an 8-2 victory over the Giants, who dropped their seventh straight game. Kingman doubled and scored on two infield outs in the second inning, homered with two men on base in the third, batted in another run with a grounder in the fifth and smashed his second homer of the game with a mate aboard in the seventh.
