Homers by Fred Lynn, Carl Yastrzemski and Jim Rice powered the Red Sox to a 9-3 victory over the Rangers. After Lynn hit his homer with a man on base in the first inning, the Red Sox added a run when Carlton Fisk tripled and Yastrzemski singled.
