A run-scoring triple by Duane Kuiper broke a 4-4 tie in the eighth inning and lifted the Indians to a 6-4 victory over the A's. Gary Alexander beat out an infield hit to open the eighth and scored two outs later on Kuiper's three-bagger. A sacrifice fly by Rick Manning gave the Indians an insurance marker in the ninth for their 16th victory in the last 23 games. [The Sporting News]
