A pair of homers by Bill Robinson, including a two-run shot that climaxed a four-run rally in the eighth inning, powered the Pirates to a 5-4 triumph over the Dodgers. The Bucs trailed, 4-1, in the eighth when Steve Nicosia led off with a single and reached second when Dodger pitcher Jerry Reuss threw poorly to the bag after fielding a grounder by Manny Sanguillen.

Reuss was derricked in favor of Terry Forster and Omar Moreno stroked a single to load the bases. An infield groundout by Tim Foli produced one run and another tallied on a sacrifice fly by Dave Parker. Bob Welch then relieved Forster and served up a gopher ball to Robinson. [The Sporting News]
