. . . where the 1970s live forever!

A three-run pinch-homer by Denny Walling in the seventh inning highlighted the Astros' come-from-behind 4-3 victory over the Phillies. The Astros trailed, 3-0, in the seventh when Jose Cruz and Art Howe opened with consecutive singles. Ron Reed relieved starter Randy Lerch for the Phillies and struck out pinch-hitter Bob Watson, but Walling, batting for Astro starter J.R. Richard, hit a 2-and-2 pitch over the right field wall.

The Astros then scored the winning run in the eighth when Cesar Cedeno singled and, after one out, stole second. Enos Cabell followed with an infield single. Cruz then bounced to short and beat out the double-play attempt as Cedeno raced across the plate. [The Sporting News]
