Bob Davis, John Mayberry and Rico Carty hit homers while Phil Huffman and Dyar Miller combined in a shutout as the Blue Jays defeated the A's, 5-0. Huffman allowed only four hits before leaving with two men on base in the ninth inning. Miller retired the last three straight batters to preserve the shutout.

Mayberry batted in a run with an infield out in the fourth inning before hitting his homer in the sixth. Davis homered in the fifth and added an RBI with a sacrifice bunt in the sixth. Carty's homer wrapped up the scoring in the eighth. [The Sporting News]
