Wayne Twitchell pitched one-hit, scoreless ball over 5 1/3 innings of relief as the Mets came from behind to subdue the Reds, 3-2. After the Reds forged a 2-0 early lead, the Mets tied the contest in the bottom of the fourth when Alex Trevino doubled home Lee Mazzilli and Steve Henderson.

In the Met fifth, Joel Youngblood walked, moved to third on a double by Frank Taveras and scored on a single by Mazzilli. Twitchell relieved Met starter Jesse Orosco with two on and two out in the fourth. [The Sporting News]
