Scoring three runs after two were out in the ninth inning, the Indians prevailed over the Angels, 11-10. The Tribe trailed, 10-8, entering the bottom of the ninth, when Ted Cox drew a leadoff walk. Two outs later, Toby Harrah smacked a homer to tie the game.

Mark Clear replaced Dave LaRoche on the hill for the Angels and yielded a single to Bobby Bonds. Bonds then stole second and scored the winning run on a single by Andre Thornton. [The Sporting News]
