Brewer starter Lary Sorenson set stage for his own downfall by walking Larvell Blanks and hitting pinch-hitter John Ellis with a pitch. Johnny Grubb then bunted and Sorensen threw the ball away at first, allowing Blanks to score and Nelson Norman, the pinch-runner for Ellis, to reach third.
