. . . where the 1970s live forever!

After blowing a big lead, the Blue Jays came back to win the first game of a twi-night doubleheader, 9-8, but the Angels captured the second game, 10-2. In the lidlifter, an eighth-inning double by Rick Cerone scored Al Woods from second with the winning run to snap an 8-8 tie. Woods had reached first on a single and moved to second on a sacrifice bunt. The Angels manufactured a tie with a seventh-inning, seven-run rally, capped by a three-run homer by Brian Downing.

In the nightcap, the Angels erupted for six runs in the third inning when Brian Downing hit a two-run single and Willie Aikens clouted his first career grand slam. [The Sporting News]
