The Expos pushed over three runs in the eighth inning on a run-scoring single by Tony Perez and a two-run double by Gary Carter to edge the Braves, 4-3. With the Expos trailing, 3-1, in the eighth, Rodney Scott singled and Andre Dawson doubled. Gene Garber relieved Eddie Solomon and was greeted by Perez' single, scoring Scott.
