. . . where the 1970s live forever!

Usually used as a defensive replacement, Mike Squires started at first base and drove in four runs to pace the White Sox to an 8-5 victory over the Red Sox. Squires batted in a run with a single in the first inning, accounted for two with a double in the second, when the White Sox scored five times, and added his fourth RBI with a squeeze bunt in the seventh. Jim Rice and Carlton Fisk homered for the Red Sox.

Bob Watson, obtained from the Astros, made his debut in a Boston uniform and rapped a single and double for his first A.L. hits. The Greek Night game attracted 46,556, the largest White Sox crowd since opening day. [The Sporting News]
