Joaquin Andujar turned in his sixth victory of the season, pitching a five-hitter, and Art Howe drove in a run with a double in the ninth inning as the Astros defeated the Expos, 2-1. Gary Carter tripled and Ellis Valentine hit a sacrifice fly for the Expos' run in the second inning.

The Astros tied the score in the fourth when Cesar Cedeno singled. stole second for one of his three thefts in the game, and counted on a single by Denny Walling. In the ninth, Walling walked and tallied the winning run on Howe's two-bagger. [The Sporting News]
