Scoring five runs in the ninth inning, the Pirates were able to defeat the Dodgers, 6-2. The Pirates took a 1-0 lead in the first inning on a wild pitch by Don Sutton and maintained that slim edge until the ninth when they broke loose against Dodger relievers Ken Brett and Dave Patterson.
