Carl Yastrzemski hit a two-run double for the 1,000th extra-base blow of his career and Rick Burleson and Jim Rice each homered with a man on base as the Red Sox defeated the White Sox, 11-5. Burleson got an inside-the-park homer in the third inning when Claudell Washington failed to make a diving catch of his line drive to right field.

Yastrzemski hit his milestone double in the fifth. Rice's homer followed a single by Burleson in the sixth. Jorge Orta and Rusty Torres hit two-run homers for the White Sox. [The Sporting News]
