Getting his first victory in more than a month, Bill Bonham pitched the Reds to a 3-2 triumph over the Expos. Bonham also contributed with his bat, singling to start a two-run fifth inning.

Ken Griffey, who had three hits, followed with a single and both runners advanced on a sacrifice. George Foster's infield single plated Bonham and Griffey came home on Dan Driessen's hit. In the eighth Johnny Bench singled and scored on Ray Knight's triple, staving off a ninth-inning homer by the Expos' Andre Dawson. [The Sporting News]
