Wildness, first to the plate and then to first base, sent Bob Welch to his fifth defeat in the Dodgers' 3-2 fall to the Braves. After plunking Bob Horner with a pitch to open the fourth, he threw a bouncer by Jeff Burroughs into right field.

A single by Glenn Hubbard scored Horner and a double by Pepe Frias sent Burroughs home with the tying run. Tony Brizzolara then helped himself gain his second win with a sacrifice fly that counted Hubbard. Gene Garber picked up his 13th save. [The Sporting News]
