Bill Buckner cracked a two-run homer in the fourth and Steve Ontiveros doubled home Bobby Murcer and then scored on Tim Blackwell's single in the seventh to enable the Cubs to pin a 4-3 defeat on the Pirates. Dave Parker's three RBIs could not prevent the first Buc loss in seven games. Bruce Sutter was credited with his 17th save, although he was scored against for the first time this month after a string of 12 scoreless innings. [The Sporting News]
