Aided by five walks by Jerry Reuss, the Braves scored three times in the first inning and went on to hand the Dodgers a 7-3 loss. Jerry Royster opened the inning with a walk and scored on a double by Gary Matthews. Two walks later, Matthews scored on a double play, and Glenn Hubbard singled home Bob Horner with the third run.
