Dave Goltz scattered seven singles and struck out nine as the Twins cruised by the White Sox, 6-1. Roy Smalley's sacrifice fly gave the Twins their first run in the third. Run-producing singles by John Castino and Dave Edwards and a squeeze bunt by Glenn Borgmann stretched the lead to 4-0 before Milt May singled home Alan Bannister in the sixth for the only Sox run.
