Extending their winning streak to four games, the Yankees downed the Indians, 8-2. The Yanks got three runs in the bottom of the first inning on RBI singles by Lou Piniella, Darryl Jones and Chris Chambliss.

They added another tally in the fifth on consecutive doubles by Thurman Munson and Piniella and scored four times in the eighth on singles by Jim Spencer, Chambliss, Juan Beniquez and Fred Stanley, a sacrifice fly by Bucky Dent and two-run single by Munson. [The Sporting News]
