Two-run homers by Fred Lynn and Carl Yastrzemski highlighted an 8-4 triumph by the Red Sox over the Blue Jays. After the Jays scored twice in the top of vfirst inning, Lynn tied the score when he followed Tom Poquette's single with his 19th homer.

Poquette's sacrifice fly in the third frame gave the Sox the lead for good. The Sox erupted for four runs in the fifth on an RBI double by Lynn, a sacrifice fly by Jim Rice and Yaz's two-run shot. [The Sporting News]
