A bases-loaded single by George Scott in the 10th inning broke a 6-6 tie and gave the Royals a 7-6 victory over the A's. George Brett led off the Royals' extra frame with a double and moved to third on a single by Amos Otis. After Darrell Porter was intentionally walked, Scott delivered the decisive blow.
