The Angels broke their seven-game losing streak when consecutive singles by Don Baylor, Willie Aikens and Brian Downing produced a run in the 11th inning and beat the Royals, 6-5. Baylor, snapping an 0-for-14 slump, homered with a man on base in the eighth to put the Angels ahead, 5-3, but the Royals came back with the tying pair in the ninth on a pass to Pete LaCock, double by pinch-hitter Jamie Quirk and single by Willie Wilson that drove in LaCock and pinch-runner U.L.
